On April 8, 2021, there was an explosion and fire at a paint plant factory in Columbus, Ohio. The explosion occurred at Yenkin-Majestic Paint Corp., which is a family-owned and operated coatings manufacturer.
Cause of explosion still under investigation
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and hazmat crews were on the scene as the fire involved the burning of chemicals and polymers. The Chemical Safety Board (CSB) visited the scene and coordinated activities with the Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA). Yenkin-Majestic is working with the Columbus Division of Fire and other entities as they investigate the incident.
