Product recalls

We are seeing an increase in property damage caused by water and fire as a direct result of a defective product. As a property adjuster, you are familiar with losses caused by defective products. Therefore, we are trying to work with you to bundle these files to increase the settlement value and decrease your operational costs associated with adjusting each claim.

Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released the following product recalls:

• • • Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing (formerly Goodman Manufacturing Company, L.P.) Expands Recall of Evaporator Coil Drain Pans Due to Fire Hazard 
      Per the CPSC, the molded plastic drain pan located at the bottom of the evaporator coil can overheat, melt and deform, posing a fire hazard. Daikin has received 26 reports of fire involving evaporator coil drain pans, including three reports of fire since the recall was announced in November 2021. Several of these incidents have resulted in significant fire and smoke damage to residences. No injuries have been reported.

 

• • • Segway Powersports Recalls Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) Due to Fire Hazard 
      Per the CPSC, the cockpit rear panel between the seats and the cargo bed can overheat and melt the plastic, posing a fire hazard. The firm has received 10 reports of incidents including seven incidents involving fire and three incidents with overheating. No injuries have been reported.
